Miles for Mamz: A CCCNJ Tribute Ride to End Cancer

On September 26-28, 2025, I will be participating in BMS’ annual Coast to Coast 4 Cancer (C2C4C) Bike Tour. Each mile will represent hope and resilience for those impacted by cancer. BMS is partnering up with the V Foundation to raise money for the advancement of cancer research. More than 300 BMS colleagues representing 33 nations will be cycling over 6000 miles. My team Tour de Cure (Segment 😎 and I will be cycling over 75 miles a day from Indianapolis, IN to Pittsburgh, PA for three consecutive days.
The reason I am riding this year is in honor of my mother, “Mamz,” who lost her battle to cancer on August 6th, 2024. She was my best friend, biggest supporter, and sunshine of my life. My mother worked next to the World Trade Center towers during 9/11, and if that was not terrifying enough, she was diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer in September 2014 and initially given a 6-month prognosis. As our world started crumbling, she never gave up hope and after seeing multiple oncologists, she was given treatments that extended her life. More magical moments and memories including our mother and daughter trip to Paris.
Her resilience was incredible, not just in her physical battles, but her inner strength, hope, and perseverance. Though her physical trials were daunting, it was her spirit that truly amazed me. Her courage and hope were sources of inspiration to everyone around her. I could not have asked for a better mother who became my best friend throughout the years. Her love, support, and guidance will continue to be my anchor, and I will carry her light with me always. I feel her presence during my hours and miles of training with every chipmunk that crosses, cardinal that flies by, bunny that stops and stares, and rainbows on the rainy rides.
Although I am not a cyclist, I am challenging myself to do this for her. Any blood, sweat, and tears while training for this epic ride pales in comparison to what she underwent during the last few months during hospice and what others who have been diagnosed with cancer face. Unfortunately, this story is too familiar for many of us. We all know someone who has suffered, survived, or succumbed to cancer. This ride is more than just a ride- each mile and dollar raised represents hope, groundbreaking advancements, and more memories with loved ones. Please visit the link below to donate.
Regardless of if you choose to contribute, please let me know if there is a name of a loved one that I can ride for, and I will proudly write their name on the back of my jersey. Thank you for all your support on my journey.
