* Our annual CCCNJ Mother's Day Luncheon will be at POC on Saturday, May 4 starting at 12pm. http://pocrestaurants.com/ Please see editable form and include names of all attendees. We will accept cash payment on Saturdays March 30th and April 6th. Send email to cccnj88@gmail.com with any questions or comments. School will be closed April 13 and 20, please mail your check payment by April 20.  $30 per person after April 20.

* We are sad to announce that Joseph W. Eng 86, of North Bergen, passed away surrounded by his family on Monday March 18, 2019 (Obituary link).  The viewing will be on Friday, March 22 between 3pm-9pm at Leber Funeral Home, 2000 John F. Kennedy Bld, Union City, NJ 07087.  Mass will tentatively be held on Saturday, March 23 at 10am at St. John Nepomucene Church, 7000 Polk Street, Guttenberg, NJ 07093.  The interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, 500 Fairview Ave, Fairview, NJ 07022.

* Many thanks to everyone who attended our CNY celebration and dinner March 2.  We are searching for a larger restaurant for next year's venue, please let us know if you have any recommendations. We have added an additional social night on March 23rd. Evite will be sent out soon and everyone is welcome. Please join us and invite your family and friends.  See our Upcoming Events March Update for other information.

* MCCC summer camp registration is open, early registration discount by April 15th.

* Introduction to Coding Class 3/16 12:30 pm open to all club families. Cost is free and students bring their own lunch and laptop with a mouse. Signup sheet will be available during school hours or email cccnj888@gmail.com to reserve a spot. This is a wonderful 1 day opportunity to get an introduction to coding.
Penjo Chhimi will teach the younger group ages 5-10. If reading assistance is required, a parent may participate.
Jenna Sigman, as part of her volunteer participation with a non-profit org called Technovation, will teach an older girls group ages 11-18.

* See Upcoming Events (January Update).  Due to storm, the Winter Potluck Social on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019 has been cancelled.

* Thank you to all participants in our CCCNJ community for your efforts in creating holiday cards for the young patients at the Children’s Hospital. We are grateful to all of the parents who encouraged your children to be a part of this meaningful project. We would also like to thank our youth volunteers Timothy Soohoo, Matthew Tse, Alexis Soohoo, Kayli Hung, Belinda Ein & Naia Ng for assisting the younger children with creating their cards. We are very proud of the wonderful example you are setting for the young children in our community. Jen Rubino, the Founder and Executive Director of Cards for Hospitalized Kids, also sends her thanks.

* We are sad to announce that Harry Kee, 98, of Neshanic Station, NJ passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, December 4, 2018. Born in 1920 in Canton, China, he immigrated to the United States in 1926. He was raised in Belmont, Massachusetts, and later settled and raised a family in Dumont, New Jersey for 40 years before moving to Branchburg, New Jersey 12 years ago. He is survived by Florence Huie Kee, his loving wife of 66 years; three loving daughters, Alice and husband Jonathan Horiuchi of Branchburg, NJ, Margaret and husband David Forte of Metuchen, NJ and Barbara and husband Kai Tai Chen of Dumont, NJ; six cherished grandchildren, Elise and Nicholas Forte, Kira and Stephen Horiuchi, and Brian and Benjamin Chen and many other family members and friends. 

Visitation with the family will be at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 9 at Bridge United Methodist Church, followed at 2:00 p.m. by a memorial service of thanksgiving for his life at the Bridgewater United Methodist Church, 651 Country Club Drive, Bridgewater, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name to the Bridgewater United Methodist Church of Bridgewater, NJ or the Calvary United Methodist Church of Dumont, NJ would be greatly appreciated.
